DAY 30 - ST. JOHN N.B.

Taken over-looking the Reverse Falls
It was a day in St. John today to sightsee - shop - and do whatever!  It's nice to have these days once in a while but we always have things to catch up on too - so it's not that we sit around and do nothing!   Bob needed to get brackets to repair the shelf in the kitchen area...us girls needed a cosmetic maintenance job - and then of course we must make time to see the famous 'Reverse Falls'.    We left for the Falls around 2 p.m.   It probably should have been called the 'Reverse Rapids'!   However it was interesting as we saw the Bay of Fundy tide come in over-running the St. John river.   It's the highest tide in world - up to 30 feet.   It causes the St. John river to go backwards - very fascinating.   This all happened around 4 p.m. and then it was to go in reverse around 7:00 p.m. So after enjoying it all for a while and talking to a Kayaking man we decided to go to the Swiss Chalet for dinner and then return to see the reverse action.  This we did - but it was so cold - that only Ted, Don & Jan stayed to see it.  Tomorrow we leave Canada and enter the U.S.   My oh my - this trip is going very fast!
