DAY 24 - CHARLOTTETOWN PEI

Well there won't be any photos posted today!   All we did was shop and get our hair done!   That wouldn't be interesting to my readers!!    The morning started off with a bit of an overflow problem.  This RV park is not the best and I think one man alone runs it!   We are going to mention to Passport America that the facilities are not good.  The guys golfed again and had a great time as usual.  Us girls decided we'd try and get our hair cut and coloured...well can you believe it...we walked into a studio and by 5:00 p.m. all of us had been done!   Very talkative but lovely girl did my hair.    By 6:00 p.m. we had grocery shopped - back at the RV Park - and I think all of us made spaghetti for dinner!   Leave tomorrow for Nova Scotia.

DAY 23 - CHARLOTTETOWN PEI

Today we just relaxed in beautiful Charlottetown Prince Edward Island.   Had a leisurely morning and then the guys took us down town - left us with one of the trucks and they spent the afternoon golfing while we wandered around the shops.  It is Labour Day - so all the main shops were shut - except a lot of the more touristy ones were open around the wharf area - and we enjoyed those.  We girls had a lovely lunch overlooking the water.  Ordered Fish & Chips and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.  PEI is very relaxed and again reminded me of New Zealand in my early years before it joined the rest of the world at a faster pace.   Marg drove us home in the truck and with the help of the Tom Tom arrived safely.  HOWEVER on arrival at home...I discovered that the bathroom hot tap had been dripping all day and the plug had accidently been left on...so a flood was just beginning.   Had we stayed out any longer - it could have been a disaster.  Thank you Lord!   Everyone came over for coffee and I ventured out and made Strawberry Gateau for the first time in the Rig.   We had lots of laughs as Gil told his 'Mouse' stories and again - it was another wonderful day!~

DAY 22 - SHEDIAC TO CHARLOTTETOWN PEI

After battling with wind and rain yesterday we woke up to a beautiful sunny cloudless day with a perfect temperature for sightseeing.   When we gathered for prayer at 9:00 a.m. Jan filled us in with information about Anne of Green Gables so that our visit would be more meaningful.   To get to Prince Edward Island we had to cross the Confederation Bridge - 13 kilometers long.  Very interesting and I had to admit made the Auckland and Sydney Harbour Bridges seem quite tame!!   When we arrived at PEI we immediately visited the information bureau and gift shop.  What a fabulous gift shop it was - and I couldn't resist picking up a little Anne of Green Gables collector doll for my latest Grand-daughter Katia.   We all commented at how green and well-kept everything was there - actually very like New Zealand countryside.  Don was the leader today (and that was very appropriate seeing Jan was the 'tour guide' of Green Gables)!!  Well...somehow our directions got a little mixed up and we wondered if we would EVER arrive!!  Well finally we did and I'll attach some photos for you to see.  It was a highlight seeing Anne of Green Gables ..and watched a short movie and then toured around the Anne's house.   Picked up some lunch and ate it in the grounds. Very lovely.    Our RV Park isn't the best - Harrington RV park - but we all decided it was cheap so that was a plus!!   A very dilapitated building greeted us and when I went later to use the Laundry the man told me not to leave the door open or the roof would blow off!   Sue had been thinking about a Lobster dinner all day - so that is what we had and was it ever good.   We found a wonderful restaurant that served Lobster overlooking the water.   The only part I didn't like was it sitting on the plate looking at me!!  I will never get over that I don't think.    It's now midnight - laundry all done and looking forward to another exciting day tomorrow.

DAY 21 - CAMPBELLTON NB TO SHEDIAC NB

After spending the night in the Wallmart Parking Lot (by the way this became very convenient for us girls as we had 'lists' of stuff to get!!)...we had breakfast at McDonalds and then decided that this morning we DEFINITELY needed to meet for prayer (not that we never do) as Hurricane Earl was a bit of an issue!!!   We kept abreast of the weather news and found that we would encounter stormy weather - but not likely be too much more!   We drove into some very heavy rain and wind....however arrived at Wishing Star RV Campground Shediac safe and sound.   Bob did a supurb back-in job with Ted's direction.   After supper everyone came over to our Rig for dessert and coffee and as usual planned tomorrow's events.  Our first stop tomorrow will be a visit to "Anne of Green Gables" and Janice gave us a lovely outline of the story to fill us all in.    Us girls are very excited to see this - but the guys.....well........that's another story!

DAY 20 - QUEBEC CITY TO CAMPBELLTON N.B.

We left earlier than usual as had a long trek today...306 miles to be exact.  Quite sad leaving Quebec as I really loved the stay there.   Gil was the leader today and as usual did an excellent job - stopping to make sure we had the necessary "p" breaks and then finding diesel stations - place to stop for lunch - it all takes lots of planning.    When we arrived in Campbellton we were told there wasn't a spot for us all at the Camp ground so as we had spotted a Wallmart decided to 'dry camp' there for the night.   Ate across the street at the A & W and then Sue made a delicious Lemon Angel Food dessert.   After we all enjoyed that the guys watched the Lions play Montreal (thankful to the fact that Gil has a generator) and us girls went into Janice's Rig and played Phase 10.  Another nice day.....lovely evening.....and due to the fact that we must put our clocks ahead another hour must now get to sleep!  

DAY 19 - QUEBEC CITY

What a wonderful day we had in Quebec City.    Decided to take the vehicles on the Ferry over the St. Lawrence River and as you can see by the pictures it was a beautiful sight!    We did so much....too much to itemize one by one but these are some of them.    Caught the tram from the Old City up to the main area - sat outside Starbucks and listened to a wonderful musician playing his trumpet and singing.   Prior to that we listened to a great flute player - the music was beautiful.  Took many photos of the Chateau Frontenac as it was so majestic and beautiful from every angle.   A long walk to the 'Citadel' and then to the 'Plains of Abraham' was very interesting - although at times we wondred if we were ever going to see the "plains"!!   A spectacular dinner at an Italian Restaurant ended our day and once again took the ferry back.   NOW the Frontenac was REALLY beautiful - photographed from the ferry with all it's lights on.   Am sure you will agree - it was a perfect day!

DAY 18 - MONTREAL TO QUEBEC CITY

The day started with a leisurely morning as we had planned to leave for Quebec City at around 11:30 a.m.   We met at Gil & Sue's for prayer (too hot to be outside!)...and then all sang "Happy Birthday" to Darren over the phone.  How can I possibly have a son that's 41 years old??  That's impossible....however it's also TRUE!!    I should tell you that we always take turns in leading the Convoy of Rigs and today it was our turn.   So we put the address in our GPS and said goodbye to Montreal after a very pleasant 3 night stay.   The trip was uneventful and when we arrived at Camping Transit Michelle (man) was there to greet us and was very friendly during our whole stay.  Gil & Sue were next to us and Marg & Ted and Don & Jan just over the way a bit.  It was a very nice Campground with a large swimming pool.  Very well kept.  Unfortunately not long after arrival Bob noticed a huge bulge in one of the tires on our fifth wheel.   It was super hot...and not exactly what he needed to see.  However the guys gathered around giving great support...and it was suggested they drive into town with the rim and see if it could be fixed.   It all worked out fine - Bob is picking up the new tire in the morning.   We are very thankful to the Lord that it didn't blow on the Freeway - that would have been a disaster!   Looking forward to touring Quebec City tomorrow.
